TRIKE KIT THREE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
This document explains the warranty that applies to your new Trike conversion kit. It explains exactly what is and is not covered, how long the warranty lasts and what you must do to keep the warranty in force. To effect your warranty, either register online at our website, or this Warranty Card must be filled out by your installing dealer and yourself and returned to Champion within 60 calendar days of the time you take delivery. Warranty coverage begins on the date when the Trike was delivered to you from a Champion Dealer and covers your Trike for personal use on improved (paved) roads and highways only. The term of this limited Trike conversion kit warranty is three years and it covers defects in material and factory workmanship. The warranty covers body preparation and painting, pinstriping and chromed components for only 90 days.
The limited warranty does NOT cover:
- Trike conversions for which the owner failed to perform the scheduled maintenance required as stated in Champion’s “Owners Maintenance Notes” delivered with each kit and also available on our website. Champion reserve the right to ask for proof of this maintenance performed before warranties will be approved.
- Fading or deterioration caused by exposure to the elements, repairs required due to airborne fallout, acid rain, chemicals, tree sap, insects, bird droppings, salt, sand, gravel, road hazards, hail, windstorms, lightning, floods or any other event of nature;
- Units that are: modified in any way from the factory-installed engine and/or power train; lowered; titled as a salvaged bike; used in competition; or used for commercial purposes;
- Units exported from the original country of sale by anyone other than Champion;
- Incidental or consequential damages such as: loss of use, time or income; inconvenience; expenses for fuel, towing/trailering, telephone, travel, rental car, lodging; loss or damage to your personal property; or commercial loss;
- Repairs required due to improper or incomplete maintenance, or operation for any length of time on unpaved roads;
- Normal maintenance items, lubrication, or replacement of normal wear items such as brake pads, drive belts, drive sprockets, bearings and fender protectors.
Covered warranty repairs must be performed using new or remanufactured Champion parts. Champion reserves the right, at any time, to make changes in units built and/or sold without incurring an obligation to make the same or similar changes on units in service. If a change of address or ownership occurs during the warranty period the owner must notify Champion in writing for the warranty to remain in effect. Ownership change is subject to a $20.00 transfer fee. Warranty claims after one year in service are subject to a $50.00 deductible. Any liability expressed or implied is limited to the published selling price of the defective goods. Approved warranty claims sent to Champion for rework will be shipped to Champion freight pre-paid by the owner, and will be returned to the owner freight collect (at the owner’s expense).
IF THE WARRANTY IS NOT REGISTERED AND ON FILE WITH CHAMPION, THE WARRANTY PERIOD WILL BEGIN WHEN THE TRIKE KIT WAS SHIPPED FROM CHAMPION’S FACTORY.
